Return from the North
Just got back from an amazing two weeks in the Arctic. Another vacation opportunity through my friend Chris who works at an adventure travel company. This trip was aboard a Russian icebreaker, bound for the Channel between Ellesmere Island (Canada) and Greenland. The goal was to get as far north as possible. We made it to 82° 30.9′ N, 61° 32.8′ W, which is about 525 miles from the North Pole, so I’d say we did a pretty good job. At that point we encountered multi-year pack ice that was too thick for our vessel to penetrate.
Too many stories to tell at the moment. At some point I’ll write things down and include them as a journal to accompany my photos. They’ll eventually be available through http://www.ticktockdesign.us/photos.
